Will Arnett Joins Tony Gilroy's 'Behemoth!' After David Harbour Exits Project
EXCLUSIVE: With the recent news that David Harbour is stepping away from Searchlight Pictures' drama 'Behemoth!' due to personal reasons, the studio has swiftly found a familiar face to take his place. Sources reveal that Will Arnett will join Pedro Pascal in the Tony Gilroy-directed film, which also features Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, Matthew Lillard, Margarita Levieva, and Alexa Swinton.
Production commenced in late October, and while some scenes involving Harbour will need reshoots, insiders assure that the impact is minimal. The film's end is still on track, with sources indicating that the reshoots won't delay the shoot's conclusion, expected in the coming weeks.
Searchlight has kept the logline of 'Behemoth!' under wraps, but it's understood that the film revolves around a cellist. Gilroy is directing from his own script and producing alongside Sanne Wohlenberg and John Gilroy (Andor). SVP Production Rayne Roberts and Creative Executive Cameron Chidsey are overseeing the project for Searchlight Pictures, reporting to Heads of Production and Development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.
This new role for Arnett marks a significant dramatic shift for the actor, following his critically acclaimed starring role in the Searchlight pic 'Is This Thing On!'. Known primarily for his comedic roles, his latest performance in the Bradley Cooper-directed dramedy has earned him the best reviews of his career, with the industry viewing him in a completely different light. Given the success of 'Is This Thing On!', sources indicate that Arnett was the ideal choice to step in after Harbour's departure.
Arnett's other notable credits include 'The Lego Movie', 'The Morning Show', 'BoJack Horseman', and 'Arrested Development'. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his podcast 'SmartLess', hosted by Jason Bateman, Arnett, and Sean Hayes.
Arnett is represented by CAA.
