The excitement is palpable as a talented supercar driver has been officially announced to join the lineup for the prestigious Audi Bathurst 12 Hour race. At just 30 years old, he will be co-driving an Audi R8 LMS Evo for Team BRM alongside notable racers Mark Rosser, Alex Peroni, and Steve Brooks in the Pro-Am Class.
This event signifies a special return for Golding, who previously raced in the 12 Hour in 2023, where he shared an entry from PremiAir Racing/Schumacher Motorsport. This year also marks Team BRM's comeback, as they participated in the 2022 event with a team consisting of Rosser, Nick Percat, and Joey Mawson, finishing in a respectable eighth place.
In addition to this, Golding nearly clinched an unexpected victory at the Bathurst 1000 last October. He led the race until the very end but ultimately finished third due to a time penalty that altered his standing.
Notably, the Team BRM Audi replaces one of the existing Team MPC R8 vehicles on the entry list, which now includes a total of four Audi cars. Among these, one car will be shared by Tony Quinn along with his sons, Klark and Kent, and his grandson, Ryder. As for the drivers of the remaining two Audi entries, their identities are yet to be revealed.
Anticipation is building, and a complete entry list detailing all drivers is expected to be released next week. For those eager for updates, you can keep track of the latest developments regarding the Bathurst 12 Hour by checking out the detailed reports available at Speedcafe.
