A moment from ITZY’s latest concert is going viral, leaving audiences on the edge of their seats.
Since all five ITZY members’ contracts with JYP Entertainment are set to expire soon, fans have been anxious over the group’s future, uncertain whether all of them would choose to re-sign with the company. Despite the speculations, the group successfully held their fourth official fan meeting concert, ON AIR,on September 20, KST.
In the middle of the concert, when the members were addressing the crowd with brief speeches, they decided to address the topic of ITZY’s future and contract renewal. Ryujin started talking about it with a serious tone, telling the fans how she wanted to share the news with them first, adding that they had many conversations with the company and among themselves about the future of the group. There were audible gasps in the audience at this very moment, as it was quite unexpected of them to address such an issue in the middle of a concert.
Ryujin then continued, saying, “It seems that moving forward, showing ourselves standing together as five would be…,” cutting herself off mid-way with an ambiguous smile, and then adding, “…would be really easy!”
The audience members, who had their breath lumped up in their throats until she finished the sentence, erupted into a loud cheer, as the members did their little celebratory dances and confirmed that they had all re-signed with JYP Entertainment.
Ryujin’s impeccable acting skills not only had the entire audience holding their breath, but also caused netizens to freak out when the video of the moment went viral. Though JYP Entertainment already confirmed the news of ITZY’s contract renewal by then, Ryujin’s acting was so convincing that people started questioning everything.
